    Help with next GPU upgrade

Probably want to spend the time and test the fan orientations in multiple configurations to see if the current setup is the best for thermal performance... Sometimes more isn't better. But yes, OP needs more fans.

G-Sync modules allow for tear-free variable refresh rate down to 1hz. Freesync normally doesn't go down that low.

Lost a CPU now a GPU Help please

The RM1000x is a good PSU. If it's on order already, I'd stick with that. If there's known motherboard issues, they're usually limited to specific models. It's truly rare to see the same issue across an entire lineup of that generation, unless your gripes are with how the BIOS is laid out.

Lost a CPU now a GPU Help please

Damn... an $86 1000W PSU. 650W might be flying too close to the sun with that build. That 6900XT can pull 350W under load all by itself and the 7900X can do around 200W under load. I'd definitely follow AMD's recommended 750W suggestion on this one and definitely from a reputable brand.

If it's not officially on the G-Sync list, you can force enable G-Sync for any Freesync Compatible monitors through Nvidia Control Panel. The DW doesn't support firmware updates because it has a G-Sync module and that's locked behind nvidia's proprietary firmware.

Yes They do. It depends on the monitor. Typically g-sync ultimate monitors support Freesync Premium.

That's the problem. Historically, it was never like this. The pricing would've stayed the same +/- minor price fluctuations and you got the performance jumps from each generation. As an example, you shouldn't be paying 3090 ti prices for a 4080 and when you compare those two, the performance...

The 4080's kinda a dud for how much it costs. Are you struggling on some games with that 2080 right now?

Will this older pc run these programs?

Well it depends on the use case for AutoCAD, if you're doing some simple single lot architectural designs or very basic mechanical drawings, that machine might be fine. I wouldn't use that machine personally do even browse the internet by now, but it should function in that role within...

    Upgrade graphics Card

Not if he wants to run a 3080 it won't be overkill. Transient power spikes in the 30 series cards are kinda insane.

    Excel COUNTIFS Rules?

The sum of row 5, from H5 onwards to the right, is for L12. L11 should just reference G5 unless you plan to have more than 1 column of HQ purchase.... which would complicate things. If you code in VBA, the excel file format you'd have to use is .xlsm which when you send to others and they open...

Will SSD work with older PC?

That motherboard doesn't support NVMe based SSD. You can get a SATA based SSD instead. It won't be as fast, but it is still a lot faster than a mechanical harddrive.

    Excel COUNTIFS Rules?

You can have a throw away row, either at the top, or at the bottom of your table that houses your COUNTIFS expression So, if you have them above your table, you can have the "# HQ Purchases" reference the value output from G5 and "# Franchise purchase" can be achieved by using the SUM...

If you want something that's more on the right-to-repair friendly side of things, consider a Framework laptop.

hey guys i wanna add more memory to my desktop

You can make your desktop less sluggish by uninstalling the bloatware that comes on HP computers. You can start by uninstalling McAfee.

Power supply rated for less power than needed by laptop

From what I can see on the thinkpad E15, it uses usb-c for charging. So, in theory if the OP uses a 20W charger through usb-c instead of 65W, it should do one of the following, but shouldn't damage the battery. Charge slowly because you're providing 1/3 of the wattage recommended. Not charge at...

    Memory upgrade.

Nah, there's no way XMP is not an option on a Z series chipset mobo. Especially on an Asus board. That Asus UEFI UI should have the XMP settings in the AI Tweaker page, and should be set under the AI Overclock Tuner row. If the Z170's bios is anything like my Z390's bios layout, that drop down...

    Memory upgrade.

If it's like any of the other Intel boards out there for the past decade... ram overclock really only consists of flipping a switch in the bios to enable the XMP profile of the ram.
