    Cable Modem - Switch - Wireless Router...Can I?

Unless you're trying to run multi IP setups with your modem, I would put the router ahead of the switches. Also, why are you making things complicated?

    Suspect BitDefender causing problems

That's what my Task Manager shows for me regarding Bitdefender. What's the application that's taking up most of your CPU usage on Task Manager? If all the bitdefender instances are at 0% like mine, it's not causing your slow down.

    ddr5 Ram

No. If your motherboard uses DDR4, it won't support DDR5. The CPU technically does, but the motherboard doesn't. You would need a new motherboard that supports DDR5 for that generation of Intel CPUs.

i have a slow gaming laptop should i save money for a pc?

Picture provided seems sus that it thinks it's a 1050 and not a 1650 if that's the gpu it came with. Might want to DDU uninstall the nvidia drivers and reinstall the latest one to be careful. But if it's already fixed because the dGPU is selected now, then you're probably alright.
