    XP Recovery Nightmare

Huh. GParted doesn't work...what a waste of a CD. I think I am done with freeware from now on. This is probably the 5th partition program I've tried to run and it errors or simply doesn't work. I'm gonna have to obtain something legit when I get home tonight.

    XP Recovery Nightmare

Well I managed to copy over everything I thought was worth keeping. Now I need to delete C:\ and I think I'll be done. I tried deleting it in the cmd prompt but it tells me that C:\ is essential and I cannot delete it. I'll try GParted. I have KillDisk but it refuses to delete C:\ as...

Yah sounds like it is set to 128MB, did you change it in the BIOS?

    XP Recovery Nightmare

Hmm. I selected no page file, same error. I made a 500MB page file, same error. Now I'm really confused. When my computer was working, I NEVER had a page file on C:\ (disabled) and it worked great. I used CCleaner on the C:\ partition, I'll run it on the new one and see what happens. And...

    XP Recovery Nightmare

Break through. I completed running a repair install on the other partition, but it had several errors in the process. It will load Windows, but immediately gives me a "Virtual Memory Low" error message and restarts. What could this mean? There is 500MB free on my HDD? I'm not sure why it...

    XP Recovery Nightmare

I was installing a new theme and uxtheme.dll was modified. Apparently it was done wrong, and my explorer.exe process would not start when I booted up. I kept getting error after error sayinf uxtheme.dll was corrupt/missing. I tried the Recovery Console, but it asks for a password I do not...

Now THIS is a touch screen

Hmm...we had something like this at my highschool. It was a rear-projection interactive whiteboard. Basically a whiteboard you could write on, but it was also touch sensitive and displayed any image the projector could. We would use these most in computer class, where the teacher could use the...

YAY I'm at 3GHZ!!! What are acceptable temperatures?

I'd look into buying a cheap fan controller if you value the life of your processor.

    Favorite Laptop Manufacture

I've only had Dell and Compaq personally. Compaq blew the Dell's out of the water, but it wasn't really a fair comparison :P I think I would have to pick Toshiba, Acer, or HP/Compaq. So I'm gonna go with Compaq since I own one and it's not caused me any issues yet! BrightView screen is amazing...

Posting pics that are not attachments

Ah I see what you are saying. Stealing images and hot-linking them here, that is frowned on for the most part. But don't be afraid to use photobucket.com or imageshack people! That is the purpose of these sites, to host your images for free! Those sites are OK :) Or if you find a picture you...

Posting pics that are not attachments

Go to www.photobucket.com and create an account. It's free. It will have an "upload" button, and you can then search your harddrive for an image you want to load. When it is uploaded, it gives the picture it's own little web address. This web address is what you use. All you have to do is...

    Comcast Tracked me.

Awesome. That is the response I was hoping for. It didn't actually happen to me, but I now know if it did I would be covered. :P My passwords are burned into my brain, I never write them down. I'll occasionally type them over and over again if I feel like I'm forgetting one...but I never save...

    Comcast Tracked me.

What if the person using the internet connection never signed an EULA? I ask this, because a shared internet connection seems to be a loophole in this scenario. Someone found the password to connect to my wireless internet and proceeded to add there MAC address to the router to gain full...

MUST READ!! this is sad and shocking

I had no idea the broadcast in Canada! I listen the 102.1 The Edge everyday, its my fav station. Number 1 on my dial. Big 93.3 The Bone fan too, lots of classic rock and some newer stuff too. You get that one?

    Pirate2Profit?

It sounds VERY unprofessional. There website is less than spectacular looking and hasn't been updated in almost a month. There methods are pertty unorthodox. It seems as if all they do is "try to scare" the pirate by linking him to false/fake legal sites that give false information/punishments...

Do you know how to type?

I'm definetly not as fast typing when I don't look...but I can type. And I have to go back occasionally and fix small errors. If I look at the keys I don't even need to look at the screen and I can tell when I've missed a key. So it works both ways haha

    strange laptop battery...

If you run the laptop hard and it shuts off, it's most likely a heat issue, lots of laptops will simply shut off if they get too hot. HOWEVER, it may lead back to the battery. IF you're putting a full load on the system, it needs to draw from the power supply more. If you have a power supply...
