Partition your drive and try a few flavors. Get familiar with one you like and just bomb any of the others. Personally I've only even tried Ubuntu and RedHat...Ubuntu was way better for me.

I think you can just use the new key and not have to install it again. If you buy a single copy of XP, you get one key, and one time to use it. Now, if you have to re-install XP on that SAME computer, you can re-use the code...but you can't use it on another machine. You may have to call M$ and...

You sure about that? Give Gentoo a try and you might change your mind lol. If you want more flexibility but don't want to be swamped at the same time, get a full version of Ubuntu and give it a whirl. There is a Live version as well so don't get that one.

Open the Task Manager and look for "explorer.exe" If it's running, close it, and then File > New Task > type "explorer.exe" That *should* fix it, if there is a service error of some kind. You can also try booting into Safe Mode and running a system recovery to see if that sets you straight...
