Any crap GPU will run HL2/CS. Install a new more demanding game like F.E.A.R. or Oblivion, up the res to 1680x1050, and see how that 6800 is coping. ;)

No PCI card is capable of giving you a decent framerate in games such as Oblivion or COR. But, Cromewell is right the 5700LE is among the best.

Do you have any idea how powerful a 6600GT is compared to your friends 6200 & X300? A 6800/X800 is infact the bare minimum I'd want to play this game.

Pr0 you sure give some weird advice, why wouldnt he be happy with Oblivion? Hes got one of the best GPU's on the market. I recommend you get Oblivion, it is an awesome game and its among the most demanding games atm. :) As for Crysis, it will definitely play it but I cant say how good.

There are indeed 9200's with active cooling. Maybe the little fan is about to die thus making more noise.

Wow comparing a game relased 2002 with one relased late 2005 = bad. :eek: F.E.A.R. rocks indeed, but so does (did) SOF2. :) SOF1 was also a great game IMO.

Wrong. Dont change anything though before you know what type of file your dealing with. Just untick "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" and tell us the extension. It could very well be something like RM/RAM requiring you to have a suitable player installed, such as the Real Player. :)
