2.5" and 3.5" are not exact dimensions, 3.5" is just the average size of a desktop hard drive and 2.5" is the average size of a laptop hard drive. Also, (Don't quote me on this) I believe it's the diagonal measurement not width.

Oh I know, but the only working Flash drives I have are two 256mb drives and an in-use 4gb drive... I'm gonna order a 16GB one soon though. I decided to just cave in and order a copy of Windows 7 because I keep getting errors though.

Oh I know, I've used the Dev preview before for at least a month. I was just gonna install it and use it to install the Consumer preview. But the Dev preview didn't work (The disk had a little crack in it.) So I'm burning a new Consumer preview copy to another DVD.

My Gentoo disk worked fine... I wonder if it's either that you can't do a fresh install of 8 or the disk itself.. I'll try writing it again.

That computer is very out of date and not really up-gradable, I'd suggest just starting from scratch. With Windows 8 being free for a year if you don't the XP disc you can use that, and you can build an okay computer for 200, here's an example. I'd like input from other users first though...

I play wow on my Core Duo laptop with intel gma 945gm and I get ~15 frames per second on lower graphics, and I can get ~10 on near max graphics. I would expect most laptops released in the past 3 years or so to be able to play it.

But you have to look at it from the price point too. You could buy Snow Leopard, Lion, and the upcoming Mountain Lion, and it still costs less than Windows 7. I think you're looking at it the wrong way. Edit: 500 posts!

I have three partitions on my hard drive, one for XP, one for Windows 8, and one for Debian. I know how to change the primary boot partition in XP and Windows 8, but now I'm stuck in Debian and I don't know how to change it back to the Windows 8 partition.... Can anyone help me? :confused...

I don't understand what you're saying, he said he just needs it for a document program right? And since he already has a laptop I don't see why he should get another when he could get something that works with what he needs it to and fills other uses.
