Looking for a headphone jack adapter for the lightning cable

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but maybe something like this paired with a standard 3.5mm adapter? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078TGT2SC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_LRl8Bb8NBHH23 I honestly don't know if it will work that way, but in theory it *should*. And if it doesn't, that item is only $11.

My i5 box is now a Kubuntu box

What Kubuntu? I just upgraded to 18.04 and not really liking it so far. It seems almost too similar to Gnome. I have to play around and customize it a bit more, but probably just stick with my last Ubuntu LTS.

Can I still buy a desktop with XP or Windows 7?

Can you buy a new system with XP or 7? No. You can still find versions of both OS's on ebay, but you have to make sure they're legit. A New, sealed package from someone with high positive feedback is highly recommended. Expect to pay a premium price. Of course, you'd have to install the OS...

Where can I find Galaxy Firmware downloads?

Never had an S5 so I'm not sure what are out there. XDA has a custom ROM thread in each of their phone subgroups If there is a Blu Kuban version of it (and you like the color blue), I recall it being very lightweight/battery friendly on my S2. Not sure what models he customized after the 3.

Where can I find Galaxy Firmware downloads?

Seriously, just Root it and flash whatever you want. Far more battery-optimized custom ROMs out there, plus you won't be further loaded down with all the Verizon crap on it. Heck, you could even use a stock Rooted ROM if you wanted.

Where can I find Galaxy Firmware downloads?

 What Build are you looking for? Why not just get get Odin, Root it, flash a Recovery, then install whatever you'd like?

Time to upgrade to the one I mentioned to you the other day!

    Gigabyte Mechanical Keyboard

I love red and really like brown. I have a blue as a backup; great feel and feedback but the noise gets to me after a day or so. Corsair makes amazing keyboards, but you pay for the build quality. Totally worth it though.

    Gigabyte Mechanical Keyboard

Once you go mechanical you'll never want to type on anything else. Familiarize yourself with the different types of keys; some are smooth some offer resistance, and some click while others are quiet. There are plenty of YouTube videos explaining the difference

    Crackle when adjusting volume

In the old days (best I can do here) volume controls were "variable resistors",'potentiometers', if you would. They consisted of a fine wire wrapped around a central core. As you adjusted volume, the contact would move around the winding and contact more resistance (lower volume), or less...

    Crackle when adjusting volume

Mine do it too, but they are probably 19 years old. It most likely has something to do with the knob, either a loose contact behind it or dust/grime behind the knob preventing proper contact. Are you able to take the speakers apart and clean the contact surface behind the knob?

    help installing xp

Yes. Then follow the on-screen directions to create a new partition and install away.

    help installing xp

It means there is an existing OS currently on the drive. The smaller partition is the place where the boot information sits. You need to format the partition to erase the data first. Just delete it and create it again. It will automatically format when you install.

    PC Case Stickers

Case stickers to me are the equivalent of car decals: purely for showing off. I'd be more far more curious wanting to see what's in the system that looks really nicely built vs the one covered in stickers, just as I'd want to look under the hood of some un-assuming family-hauler that just...

    Galaxy S8+ vs S9

From what I've seen, the camera on the S9 is just like any others, only you can select if you want to or leave it on auto. Where Samsung supposedly really shines with camera-related stuff is from the dual ones on the 9+. I don't think you'll notice much of a difference comparing the 8+ to 9...

    Galaxy S8+ vs S9

@johnb35 for the 8+, I know he has one. Im coming from an S7 and before that was the 4, and 2. This is my first Edge/+ model. It took all of 5 minutes to never want to go back to a 'standard' size screen again. Not sure about exact size comparisons between the 9 and 8+, but the deciding factor...

What are theses plugs please help

Have you tried to Google the brand and model and look for some sort of repair/parts document online? When I had mine, it had a damaged cable and I didn't feel like repairing it so I just used some Google Fu. Took a bit of digging, but I found it.
