I'm using a steelseries 5hv3 headset. They use the standard headphone and mic jacks, not usb. I've tried plugging them into the front and back, but both produce static. and how would I update it?

So I have had this problem on my desktop since I built it, and I don't know how to fix it. I've looked into it and I'm pretty sure what I'm experiencing is EMI. It makes my microphone staticy, and I get a slight high pitched noise in my headphones. Does anybody know how to fix this?

I'm sure you all know that windows 10 is going to be a free upgrade from windows 8 and 7. What about Windows 7 OEM users, will they also be given a free upgrade?

I got it working.

I eventually decided to use a different program to get a bootable usb, and it worked; however, I am unable to connect to the internet through ethernet or wifi. It will recognize that there is a connection, but it will never connect.

I'm actually now getting this error.

Ubuntu will not connect to the internet Anyone know what any of this means? I'm trying to install ubuntu with a flash drive.

Something else I noticed: the graphics card uses a pcie 3.0 x16, but the motherboard uses pcie 2.0 x16. I know they are compatible, but am I looking at a performance decrease because of this?

I have a couple 1gb sticks of RAM from my old computer. They aren't very good RAM by any means. Would it still be worth it to salvage those?

It's my first build and I have no idea how to overclock, but I wouldn't leave it out of the picture. Would switching to the regular 8320 make a noticeable difference in performance? Also, do you have a recommended substitution for the motherboard? Like I said, my knowledge of this stuff is limited.
