    What are you currently playing?

Factorio is way too addictive. I try to stay off that game as a result.

I accidentally hit the power switch on my surge protector and now I can't connect to the internet -- please help!

A lot of bloat in the software now. I'm currently using bitdefender free, it's pretty good so far for me. Windows Defender is sufficient though if you don't want to deal with a 3rd party anti-virus program. Malwarebytes has always been a good go-to for the occasional scans once in a while...

    Legacy to UEFI Bios Question

Technically, if your bios is on legacy. GPT is not an option. So if your harddrives are already on GPT, then your bios is in CSM/UEFI if you've got legacy hardware that isn't fully compatible with UEFI. Is there a specific reason you want to move to a UEFI only bios? It sounds like you're...

Why does my GPU Usage suddenly go below 30% randomly and go back up?

GPU stutters like that could be waiting for the CPU to catch up. Next time you play valorant, keep an eye out on the CPU usage as well and report back. See if there's any correlations to very high CPU Usage when your GPU usage drops. Sometimes rolling back drivers a couple versions back could...

Try using a different SATA cable and plugging it into a different SATA port to see if it still produces that freezing behaviour. At least that'll narrow down if it's your HDD, cable, sata port that's causing this behaviour. I'm still trying to think of why a HDD would freeze up the system...

Budget PC Build Guide ($500 - $1200 builds)

I doubt it... that's not very Intel like to stay on a socket for that long. 14th gen (after raptor lake) is not likely to use LGA 1700.

Probably want to spend the time and test the fan orientations in multiple configurations to see if the current setup is the best for thermal performance... Sometimes more isn't better. But yes, OP needs more fans.

    Help with next GPU upgrade

G-Sync modules allow for tear-free variable refresh rate down to 1hz. Freesync normally doesn't go down that low.

Lost a CPU now a GPU Help please

The RM1000x is a good PSU. If it's on order already, I'd stick with that. If there's known motherboard issues, they're usually limited to specific models. It's truly rare to see the same issue across an entire lineup of that generation, unless your gripes are with how the BIOS is laid out.

Lost a CPU now a GPU Help please

Damn... an $86 1000W PSU. 650W might be flying too close to the sun with that build. That 6900XT can pull 350W under load all by itself and the 7900X can do around 200W under load. I'd definitely follow AMD's recommended 750W suggestion on this one and definitely from a reputable brand.

    Help with next GPU upgrade

If it's not officially on the G-Sync list, you can force enable G-Sync for any Freesync Compatible monitors through Nvidia Control Panel. The DW doesn't support firmware updates because it has a G-Sync module and that's locked behind nvidia's proprietary firmware.

Yes They do. It depends on the monitor. Typically g-sync ultimate monitors support Freesync Premium.

    Help with next GPU upgrade

That's the problem. Historically, it was never like this. The pricing would've stayed the same +/- minor price fluctuations and you got the performance jumps from each generation. As an example, you shouldn't be paying 3090 ti prices for a 4080 and when you compare those two, the performance...

The 4080's kinda a dud for how much it costs. Are you struggling on some games with that 2080 right now?

Will this older pc run these programs?

Well it depends on the use case for AutoCAD, if you're doing some simple single lot architectural designs or very basic mechanical drawings, that machine might be fine. I wouldn't use that machine personally do even browse the internet by now, but it should function in that role within...
