    Mothereboard Repair??

Radio shack will have you basic caps that WILL indeed match what is on the board. Just make sure you copy down all the information correctly. Radio shack however has the "old style" I guess you could say, liquid caps and not the "new style" solid caps (AFAIK). But like said, it is probably...

    ASrock and Foxconn

Almost every motherboard is good, depending on what system you are trying to build. So asking if a select few motherboards are good without giving any indication to what type of system you're building is like a shot in the dark. If you provide more info better answers can be supplied.

    Mothereboard Repair??

If you have the right type of desoldering gun sure. The solder used on mobo's is not regular lead solder. It is either Hard Solder or Water-Soluble Flux solder (I am not sure). At any rate the melting point of the solder on mobo's is higher than that of regular lead solder so as long as you have...

    Need Help - Motherboard freezes

AFAIK If the chip starts to overheat the system will auto shutdown to prevent damage. The best way to find the problem would be to test each component individually if you can (stick the chip in another mobo with same everything else, then start swapping out). Another option would be to get a...

    Switching processors...

Bringing back a dead thread, the battery he was talking about was the main battery, which you said you already got. The panel forward of the keyboard is the one you need to remove next followed by the keyboard I believe and the "lower" (closest to you) plastic panel (I can not remember, I do not...

    Emachine T6212 Owner see here

No script can run before passing through the bios, if it dies in 5 seconds like he said then it is most definately not past the BIOS yet or if it is it can't load into windows. You CAN run scripts after the bios but not until the OS has started loading. The problem sounds like it's prolly a...

    Emachine T6212 Owner see here

The emachines motherboards DID indeed have bad caps (as do a lot of mobos) but it does not sound like the issue, you can open the case and see if there are any popped or bulging caps. If not then the issue could be with the OS install (which is what it sounds like) but without more info I cannot...

    reformatted my hp laptop

If you did not yet re-install windows you should be able to get them back no problem, if you did re-install windows you will have issues getting the files back and may only get partial/none back. You can try a recovery program such as Easy Recovery Pro or Recover My Files and if you're really...

The V6000 has 20 or so screws on the bottom (about 8 are hidden under the battery) and the larger of the 2 plastic pieces on top should pop off, just keep working it until it does but be careful not to crack it, they are a heafty replacement.

New building computer 101 contest - it might be you.

As I did not get as many submissions as I had hoped I will have to reconsider this decision. Omega's guide is indeed very good and I will definitely look at it and will more than likely add it in as an addition to the current guide. When that will be though I do not know, I am currently very...

New building computer 101 contest - it might be you.

Well as the old building 101 thread has gotten slightly outdated (by slightly I mean a few years) and with all the new technology out in place of the parts I was able to use when making the guide I feel it is time for a new one to take its place. Now as I don't have the money to buy new parts...

Breif Computer Building Guide and New PC

http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp The link is also in the real Building 101. As for the 101 being out of date (as mentioned before) it was meant as a simple step by step with a results may vary style. The idea is that when you know the basics of putting together a...

Breif Computer Building Guide and New PC

Yes it is old however I will be trying to upgrade it during this summer as I am done with school and will finally be making some money to build a new system. It will most likely be updated near towards the end of the summer but it will be done. This is a good guide however in the meantime but...

Is this a good deal ?

Amperage on the PSU is fine, but a higher wattage PSU may be desirable for that system, especially if you want to upgrade eventually.

    New Build Won't Start Up?

You can remove the battery for ~1 minute and it will clear it or you can more the jumper over for ~1 minute then move it back. What is the amperage on the +12v line for the PSU?

    Asus p5n-E Audio Channels?

Unless you have an 8 channel audio system having 6 channels will not be a problem. As for mobo suggestions you can take a look at MOBO 101.

    not again

Could possibly be a loose connection cable from the motherboard to the screen. Only way you could check is by opening the laptop which I don't suggest unless you know what you're doing. Best bet would be to just open and close it a few times, see if it wiggles back into place if that is indeed...

    Laptop overheating or......?

Could you have created a short when you re-soldered the connector on the motherboard, if you did that a slight movement could cross the connection and shut down the computer. Other than that it sounds as if it could be a hardware problem such as bad ram or possibly a bad mobo.

Did the internal 1TB single hardrives came out yet?

Waste of money for a single 1TB drive. I'd say wait a few years for holographic storage and then do an upgrade.
