Check out this build I created

I designed the components list, now it's up to you to rate it:P Link: http://comp-blog.hybridgoomba.com/ Note: I have not physically built this. It is just a compilation of the components.

after i leave for a few hours with my computer on..

That happened on my sister's laptop once. We decided to just wait it out and see if anything would happen overnight, and when morning came, there was a blue screen of death. Your best bet is to just turn the thing off when you leave.

    Please comment on my build???

Looks fair, but it says the memory standard is 1200 and not 1066, so you might need to get different ram. I dunno if ram is backwards compatible, which i'm assuming it's not.

    CPUs...

I think it would be slightly noticable, but not by a huge margin. I'm assuming you're talking about AMD Athlons correct?

How to Build a Computer - Step by Step (With Photos)

Is it also easier to install the RAM at the same time? Or is the MoBo usually pretty sturdy once you put it on the supports?

    New Gaming PC

I would not pay for that standard alienware. You could easily build that with the parts it has in it for much, much less. Plus, the CPU isn't that great for gaming, and you would want 4gb of ram instead of 2. I wouldn't waste extra money on that if I were you.

$90 for this computer- good deal or bad deal??

Well, to put it simply, we need to know a little more about the parts. But, really, you could buy it for $90 since it isn't THAT much, and if it really does suck then you can jsut salvage the parts(if their any good that is). I dunno, whatever you want to do.

What's the cable called that you would use in a wired internet connection?

Thanks man you rock :). The problem was that I went under networking>wired networking instead of hardware>networking products. How did I miss that?

What's the cable called that you would use in a wired internet connection?

I was fairly sure it was called an ethernet cable but when I look at Newegg I saw only one and it was $30. And since I just need a simple cable for the internet, I would never spend that much on one. I'm just wondering if I'm looking at the wrong type of cable or what, can you help me find what...

Do retail boxed CPUs come with thermal paste?

What do you mean "run it over". And btw, nice way of copying me in the second post lol.

Do retail boxed CPUs come with thermal paste?

Is the paste pad usually good enough for basic users though?

Can you install windows more than once?

I mean like if you buy an OEM version of, say, vista basic, can you install it on multiple computers? Maybe not to sell all of the computers, but if you own all of them? Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question... I've never really installed windows on a PC before. Doesn't it have a little...

    Good deal?

OK, well I guess what I'm trying to ask is if you were looking to buy a 4800+ would you buy this one and save some money or go with Newegg/TD for a higher price? And stop dissing X2s...

Which CPU brand do you choose? Version 2

Intel tends to be better quality(newer ones at least), but I decided to vote for AMD since they tend to offer decent performance for a good price, and a lot cheaper than Intel.

    Which CPU should I get?

Black editiong if you're going to go overclock, regular retail if you don't care and just want to HS and fan =P

    Good deal?

http://cheapguys.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=143_144_149&products_id=431&osCsid=d5cf072cf2e5f02a13657daabb4bcafe It's strange, since their selling a 4800+ for the cost of a 4600+/4400+. The only reason I would hesitate at buying this is because I'm not familiar with the website. I found...

    Hard Drive Performance

I depends on your definition of size. Apparently a 3.5" drive is slower than a 2.5". As for storage size, it shouldn't affect it, but what would I know?

    ?fsb?

Not sure about the standard for gaming, but here's a good mobo for the pcie x16: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128337 Not sure if it's perfect for gaming, but it looks like it should suit your needs compared to the last one you showed.

please comment on this desktop deal

It's all right I guess. But 2 things I don't really care for much- tehy don't describe what intel processor it is and the comp comes with Ubuntu Linux, not Windows, which is why it's so cheap. I know of a couple good computers from $350-400 if your interested.
