If you booted into safe mode then it's most likely a driver problem. Don't replace a drive for a missing file! Go get your hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic software and run a full/extended test. That's the only way to be sure you need a new drive.

Yeah, it is... But just check the backgrounds on the RAM itself, the actual manufacturer. Micron, Samsung, Hynix, Infineon, etc. I have used different sets but it's better to stick with the same. Some brands like G. Skill, A-Data, Mushkin and Corsair have rebranded Micron chips.
