I'm getting a ATI 5870, and three new monitors and I'll need an Active DisplayPort to DVI adapter to setup Eyefinity. However, I can't seem to find anything that will ship to Canada! The adapters I did find on canadian websites are all out of stock! If anyone spots anything, please let me...

Severe monitor or graphics issue...please help! :(

You should try the old card anyway, couldn't hurt. If it works, then it's most likely your GPU or possibly your PSU (I doubt it too). If it doesn't work then the problem may be elsewhere. You could get a program that will display the voltages that your PSU is outputing. Something like...

Severe monitor or graphics issue...please help! :(

If it's a PCI, stick it in a PCI slot. Looks like this. If it's a PCIe, stick it in a PCIeX16 slot. Like this (second one down) The slots on the motherboard provide some power. For more powerfull cards, they require extra power, that's why there's that plug. However, for older or low profile...

Severe monitor or graphics issue...please help! :(

Most likely your graphics card is going bad. Try replacing with a different graphics card, see what happens, if you have another one available.

    Powerline audio

Hmm, some sort of digital audio communication could work, but analogue would be to noisy. But, if that exists, I donno sorry. Plus you already have that LAN going, depending on how both systems are implemented, there's a chance that they'll interfere. Really interesting idea though, and could work.

    Just a curious question....

Basicly, the more voltage the more stable your CPU will be. However, that comes with more temp as you know. So by lowering your voltage, your CPU may be cooler, but less stable. Those artifacts you're getting is most likely caused by stability issues. If you still want to keep your CPU cool...

    Internal vs external graphics

Just so we're clear, when you say external graphics adapter, do you mean like an external graphics card? Or some sort of converter box (like VGA to HDMI)? If we're talking about graphics cards, then generally a external graphics card is easy to install, however an internal card would be far...

    PCI vs. AGP

PCI < AGP < PCIe FYI: There's also different PCIe. For graphics card it's PCIe x16 or PCIex8 Other cards may have PCIe x8, PCIe x4 or PCIe x1. On the motherboard, the different PCIe slots have different size, but a smaller board can go into a bigger slot (I.E a PCIe x1 card can go in any PCIe...

    Dual Monitor Questions

This is under XP. For vista or 7 it's similar, just find where you configure your monitors. Then click and drag the boxes that are representing your physical monitors to the corresponding positions. EDIT: Xp Example As simple as clicking and draging the boxes.

Severe monitor or graphics issue...please help! :(

You should start eliminating variables. Try a different monitor, or check your monitor on another system. If the problem is on the computer itself, the next most likely thing is your graphics card.

    desktop freezing help!!!

Isn't that the most frustrating feeling ever!? My PC did that. It was the DVD drive. If I leave it unplug it never freezes. For some reason if I plug it back in and do stuff with the drive it rarely freezes. But if I leave it plugged in and ignore the drive, my computer can freeze randomly. I...
