Ok lol this is getting very frustrating. i just read a review, people dont like it. Can anybody recommend me another firewall besides the jetico and alarmzone (not compatable with vista)

Has anybody ever used this? I'm thinking about downloading it for Windows Vista Premium but I don't know if it's a decent program or not. What do you guys think?

Also, with avast, if i uncheck show avast tray icon, does it still start up and protect my computer when i restart? And is it a leave it and let it do its thing program or do i have to manually do everything?

It looks decent, but i also dont know about freeware. if it passes your inspection, i already registered(for free of course)so all i have to do is download it.

k, scratch that. The Zonealarm was not compatable with windows vista. Any other good firewalls equal to zonealarm that are compatable?

And the zone alarm, just the firewall is better than the firewall offered in the norton internet security 2006 software? That is the only other software i have used in the past so, comparing avast and zone alarm, which ive downloaded now to it would help me determine how good these programs are...

Ok, well i decided to download avast. It says it has a mild firewall, would this be enough for just casual browsing? Is windows firewall better? Would norton internet securities firewall be better than that?

Why do you need more than one program though? If avast or avg run both virus scan and spyware blockers why do you need both or a seperate spyware? Also, are these better than mcafee or norton?

Also, is windows defender any good? I dont mind the email virus scanning because if i dont know somebody i just delete the email, but my main needs are virus scanner, adware, spyware and all that other ware that slows down your computer and messes it up, and maybe a firewall. I checked out...

I thought AVG also did spyware and adware?

Also, are you famaliar with the SBC Yahoo! internet security program? Is it decent, i have sbc for internet but dont know if when they come out with a vista version i should download it or not.

Wow i found just the opposite, its always freezing and having issues on my XP laptop, but my vista desktop runs IE7 just fine, i like it now that it doesnt freeze!

Oh, and what exactly does windows defender do? Mcafee seems to pick up stuff defender doesnt.

The reason i'm asking is because i have 15 days left on my free trial of mcafee that came with my computer and im looking into alternatives early so i wont be scrambling when the time comes. I dont have money to spend on virus software but i also wouldnt like to have my computer crap out on me...
