Depends what you're using the system for. Are you a heavy gamer? If so, a 7800GTX may not be a bad choice for you, if you're willing to spend the large amount of money. However, if you're a casual gamer, and rely more on speedy applications, then you'd probably be better off getting a cheaper...

I have onboard RealTek 7.1 audio and it sounds just fine for me. I use my computer for generally the same uses as you do. See how you like the sound with the onboard, and if you're not satisfied you can always just buy a sound card later.
