Upgrade Options From Ryzen 1700/GTX 1080 Build

It really depends on the wiring in his place. Not uncommon for certain rooms to be hooked up with a double pole breaker - which would be fine to run a furnace and a high power drawing computer at the same time. About that coil whine thing, could always reach out to evga for an answer.

[Asus x399-A Threadripper] ER_LED4 ? Motherboard wont boot. Possiblr pcie damage?

Ooof. Depends on how bad it is, it could be fixed with some basic hand tools. If you have access to the socket's pin map and you can correlate it to the pin map, you can at least check to see if that pin's used for anything. Sometimes they're just extra ground pins that might not be a problem...

    AVG or Norton

They behave more like a virus/malware than they do as an antivirus. They ride on their past reputation. It's still like that. Sometimes I forget it's even installed. It just does its thing in the background. Only time it does a push notification is to tell you that it updated to the latest...

    AVG or Norton

I personally use Bitdefender Free, but Windows Defender is perfectly fine as well. I would avoid AVG or Norton like the plague.

    RAM Issue

Yeah going with a pair that had 2Rx8 and mixing with 1Rx8 sticks could be an issue. As john has said, you should really get matching sticks of ram. Especially older PC's.

WIndows 10 Upgrade to win 11 or buy new

Your CPU is intel 7th gen core processors. There are work arounds to make Win 11 install on unsupported cpu's but these work arounds could close at any time from Microsoft updates. Honestly not worth the hassle. If your machine is still fine for what you do, I would suggest you just keep...

    Excel- running/moving monthly average

You can do this using Pivot Tables. Set up your spreadsheet with the columns as listed and format them as Tables and give it a name. You can then create a PivotTable for that named Table and you can get it to Sort and Calculate rolling averages per month.

    Hard drive to SSD

When you went through the cloning process with the software, when it told you to shutdown and set the bios boot sequence to the SSD, did you disconnect the old HDD for the first boot? Typically, when I clone OS drives over to another drive, once that cloning is completed and you have to set the...
