Willing you have the money to upgrade all that. I agree with Zatharus though, some BIOS's and Mobo's can cause trouble with new hardware. I was in a similar situation about upgrading my computer, I ended up opting to wait until I can do my own build.

For 1000-1300 you can find many laptops in that range. I wouldn't say new technology will arise over the summer, but you'll get more bang for your buck.

Most 32bit programs should run in 64bit. Either through software updates or emulation mode. I would make sure your programs cross over before updating.
