    Random PSU shut offs

PSU's still hold a charge for quite a while and can cause injury even after they are unplugged. Best not to mess with taking it apart. I think you should just buy a new one. Preferably a good one this time.

    installing xp after vista questions

No problem, sk8_aholic. Glad to help. I actually linked the hard drive rack and trays that I use in my first post, but I failed to point them out properly. I guess I was writing in too much of a hurry. I use SATA drives, so if you have IDE drives, these particular parts wont work. There are...

    installing xp after vista questions

Swapping drives as you described is the best way to use multiple operating systems on one computer in my opinion. You are not touching the unused operating system at all, and restore points won't get deleted as happens in a conventional dual boot environment. I use the drive swapping method...

lookin for nice 2.1 comp speakers for the average man

That's a good question. Newegg's bulk return policy (which this item falls under) states the item cannot be returned to Newegg.com for refund or replacement service. This has stopped me from buying bulk items from them because defects can happen. Amazon's returns on electronic equipment...

    search integration

Yes, Vista's Instant Search is very good. For XP, there's Windows Desktop Search which is supposed to "Add Vista-like search capabilities to Windows XP". I haven't personally used it so can't vouch for it. Here's an article on it though...

    Email not working?

I'm guessing here the mail server does not like the @CFL.RR.COM part of the e-mail address. Are you positive that address is correct?

Math isn't my strength either. :) I did some quick checking around, and the best prices I could find from vendors I would personally trust, and has them in stock were at Newegg and Amazon.com.

    Official Linux Distro Thread

I mainly use Windows, but when I want to use a Linux distro, I also use Ubuntu. I found it to be easier to use than SUSE, and on the occasions when I do have questions about it, their help forum has proven to be very useful.

I also have the Z-2300. I would buy them again without hesitating. EDIT: Though I probably would not buy this item from Newegg because I dislike their Bulk item return policy just in case it needs to be returned. I Bought mine at Amazon.com which is about $1 cheaper shipping included.

    Harddrive Drivers

Well, you'll still want to delete the OS on that drive, right? There may be a way to delete the OS without a reformat, but that's still what I'd do. That's just me though...Good luck.

Personally, I'd reformat it completely. Especially if your new hardware is substantially different from your old hardware.

Looking for your Opinion on anti-virus s/w

I use Kaspersky, but for friends on a budget that don't want to pay, I'll install AVG. I never use internet security suites though, just the anti virus. I've also heard that the latest version of Norton Anti Virus isn't all that bad.

STOP: C0000221 unknown hard error \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll

Hi, The reason I asked is because I've heard that sometimes other devices on the same cable as the hard drive can cause this problem. I know you need both drives working to re-install Windows from the CD though. However, if you have two IDE headers on the motherboard and another cable, you...
