    I think you should try downloading the Ultimate Boot CD (google it) and run some tests. I've had the same problem before and it's been the RAM that was the problem. With the CD you can test pretty much everything to find out what you're problem is.

    cant have a crt on a laptop unless you plug it in. and if you've got "burn-in" then theres nothing you can do about it as far as I know.

    I wouldn't really recommend a Celeron for doing anything remotely hard. Check to see what other processors your mobo supports and see if you can afford one. They generate so much heat cuz thy're trying to do things that they're not designed to do.

    yeh definately leave the memory where it is as they work in pairs and those are the slots they are supposed to work in so just add the !GB sticks in each of the currently spare slots. look in you're case for connectors such as the ones in the back of the hard drives see if there are any hanging...
