    Discharging Batteries

I decided not to use a switch like that so if for some reason the wall wart fails it would switch back to the battery automatically without me physically having to operate a switch. The part of the circuit that requires the electricity only shows what the circuit is doing by powering some LEDs...

    Discharging Batteries

Hi I'm in the midst of designing a circuit and I have a relay setup to switch from a 9Volt battery to a 9volt wall wart when the wall wart is plugged in to save drain on the battery. Not just wire them in parallel and put load on both. My question is if I have the positive terminal of the...

    Laptop Chargers - HOT!!!

They get this hot because of all the electricity running through them! The purpose of the "black box thing" is to 'transform' the power from the wall outlet into something your laptop can use. It's the same as those big power bricks where it goes over the socket next to it as well. They're...

Using Gmail as an email client

That's strange. How recent are they? Gmail only checks for new messages every hour but you can manually check by going back to the accounts page in settings and click "check mail now" Also could they be in the spam folder?

Using Gmail as an email client

You can do exactly that as long as the other email service supports POP3. Just go into Gmail then go to Settings then go to Accounts. From then on it's fairly straight forward. If Horde doesn't support POP3 Horde might allow you to forward all your maili to Gmail. I'm not sure though I've...

    Australian online computer shops?

www.staticice.com.au search's through a lot of Au PC stores online. Just be careful it doesn't take into account shipping. I also like to purchase things from http://www.centrecom.com.au/ although it is pretty much always cheaper when you go the actual store rather than ordering online.

IP Addresses -- How exactly do they work?

If you had 3 computers at home all connected to the one internet connection their Internet(or External) IP address would all be the same but their Local IP would be different. Eg your external might be 202.202.202.202 While some of your local ones might be 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2...

    Portal 2

I have it. The puzzles are a lot harder. Doing them more so rather than figuring them out. After you beat them though the ending is good.

    DD-WRT ?? Thoughts?

I use it on my WRT54Gl and it works great. Favorite feature would be using the button to turn the wireless off which was really helpful when I was stuck with WEP. However if your one for Quality of Service I hear Tomato is the firmware to go for.

    CF Himachi-LAN

Latency would probably be just as bad if not worse as it tunnels through hamachi servers and ultimately it still has to get from Australia to America.
