Hi guys, quite a while since I've posted here lol.

Got a student loan coming through some time within the next 2 months, looking to stick together a budget build for gaming, bored of not being able to game on my netbook!

Don't want to spend over £500

What I've put together so far from ebuyer comes to £430

Is there anything I can improve on for the price? I've already got Windows & a DVDRW, know that I need to pick up a Keyboard & Mouse, wan't to also see how it run's with 2GB of ram for starters.

Cheers!

Don't get LGA 775, outdated!!!!!

Monitor - BenQ G922HDL. It has DVI-D input and LED blacklight. The contrast ratio is a lot better than dell.

Case - That only take mATX mobo!!!!
However, I do recommend you get a slightly more expensive case for better ventilation.

Where is your PSU????
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135159

CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 440
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/235763

Mobo - Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H/ As M4A88T-M/USB3 880G if you want to use m-ATX case

While for ATX
Asus M4A87TD/USB3

RAM - Kingston 2GB (2x1GB) DDR3 1333MHz i5 Memory Kit CL9 1.5V
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152979

Video card - consider £120 MSI due to its heatsink design

HDD -consider Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB/ Seagate ST3500418AS. They should run slight faster.

Using scan instead of ebuyer, I've got together a base system (no monitor) for £391, which is AM3, so more futureproof than yours, is still mATX, but the motherboard will actually fit, has more memory, has a power supply, has a larger, faster hard drive, and same video card, but cheaper:

motherboard: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Giga...(x16)-DDR3-1800(OC)-SATA-3Gb-s-SATA-RAID-mATX £59.93

CPU: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/AMD-...-31GHz-15MB-Total-Cache-HT-2000MHz-95W-Retail £60.44

Memory: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/4GB-...6-(1333)-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-9-9-9-24-150V £69.44

Video Card: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-...800MHz-GDDR5-GPU-850MHz-800-Cores-DP-DVI-HDMI £106.42

HDD: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/500G...HD502HJ-SATA-3Gb-s-7200rpm-16Mb-Cache-8ms-OEM £31.65

PSU: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/500W-Antec-Basiq-Power-PSU $40.85

Case: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus-TM-B11-Black-mATX-Tower-No-PSU £22.36

Total w/o shipping = £391.09

+ either your monitor or the one daisy put up brings it to ~£480 w/o shipping, with shipping should be near enough on the £500 mark, and will be a much better system

@daisy, the cooling on the XFX one is surprisingly pretty good, even though it is reference. Overclocked to the specs in my sig I've not seen mine go over 65 when gaming/benching and it is near enough silent, fan stays at 50% or less
