If you're just using regular CAT5 and not CAT5e, then I believe it will only run at 100Mbps.

I highly recommend Cat6, Cat5e is just an enhanced version of Cat5. It will run Gigabit Ethernet but I recommend Cat6.

do you know how much it would cost per month to truly run 1000Mb data stream???? I think well over $900/ month. Plus can your computer even handle that data flow?

Through LAN? Free! and yes, gigabit is feasible for games and whatnot. Especially for large networks where a lot of bandwidth is needed.

Theres a huge difference between having a 1000Mb LAN network and a 1000Mb internet connection, I hope you werent being serious.
