I have 1000usd to spend on a build. Anything lower than that is alright. I would want to keep it around 800usd if possible. This is my first time building a computer.

What I want:
-Well Rounded Computer for watching video and playing games
-Be able to play games that are coming out; Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Global Agenda.
-A quiet computer
-Enegry efficient would be a plus+

What I usually do:
-Photoshop*
-Playing CSS, Teamfortress 2 and Warcraft 3
-Watching HD video or 720p
-Browsing

What I have:
A Seagate Sata drive 250GB
Dvd Rom

Monitor
crappy 400w power supply
2 unknown case

It would be great if anyone could make me a list of parts. :D

Thanks for the reply. :D

I don't know if I should go for window 7 in the future or stay with window xp. Also would it be better if I spend extra money for a quad core like i7 or Phenom II x4? Or should I wait for i5 to come out so it would be less expensive. I'm never try to OC, so i7 might be a little too much...

If your looking to spend a bit more, a quad would be a good investment:

Go with the vista->windows 7 upgrade ticket version, you want the 64bit because of 4gb memory, plus directx 10, and the fact that vista is nowhere near as bad as people try to say it is. In that budget range, i would go with phenom II.

Defiantly i7 if you would be using all of it. And Windows 7 is going to a solid upgrade from vista. I also imagine that your overall speed will be better on 7 than xp.

Ahh, that's right. I was thinking a full build.

I forgot the OP already had the drives. Still missing an OS though.

Id go with this gpu, alot quieter and runs alot cooler:

Memory, personally id go with gskill over ocz:

Might wanna think also about getting a newer hard drive, depending on the age of your current drive. A slow drive can slow down your overall systems responsiveness
