Are there any graphics card that have 1280 x 720 resolution output 'built in'? If so, which ones, price, etc, etc...

All video cards that are on the market today support that resolution, as well as ones 10+ years old.

Thanks. Can you recommend any specific decent, cheapish cards that output this res.? My needs aren't great; I'm currently used to a 32Mb one for general broadband use.

I run OS Windows XP SP2, Pentium III, 997MHz / 254Mb.

The integrated one you have now doesn't support that resolution? If you want a new card, we will need to know what motherboard you have, because we don't know if you have ISA, PCI, or AGP.

Be careful when you want a higher resolution, because it requires more power therefor you need a better card. Or else you could get some slowness at certain application.

Unfortunately it only supports VGA, SVGA and XGA.

Just checked the driver i8xdnt5.inf file and saw the below entry for my card...

Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller = i81x, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_7125

...Surely this must mean that my motherboard has a PCI port, no?

No, that just means that you have integrated video. But basically all motherboards will have a couple PCI slots. I would think that it would support the resolution your wanting but you would have to check. If you want to do any type of decent gaming you would have to get a separate video card.

If you know how to check the driver file, I'm sure you know how to open up your case and look at your motherboard to see what slots are available. I'm almost positive it has PCI slots, but if it has an AGP slot then that gives you a much broader range of cards to choose from, as well as getting a cheaper one.

Yes of course. I was just seeing if there was a way of definitely finding out via the software first. I'll open her up at some point...

Thanks a lot, Merry Christmas.
