Recently I bought a Dell inspiron 530 Desktop with 24" wide screen monitor. The computer has the 128M nVidia GeForce 8300GS video card. I don't play any game at all. My question is:

1. Does this video card support Dual monitor?

2. My second monitor is a 17" monitor (4:3, not wide screen), can it be used together with the 24" wide screen monitor?

3.if the 128M nVidia GeForce 8300GS video card does not work for my two monitors, what is the cheapest alternative video card I can buy to make my Dual monitor work?

Many many thanks!

Well the easy way to check is, have a look at the rear of your computer, are there two outputs for the monitor? If there is only one, then your computer will not support dual monitor. If that is the case then I would suggest you buy the 7600GT, its a pretty good card for its price, and you can play some games if you feel the itch to do so in the future. That card is available for AGP and PCI-Express, so you can definitely install one into your computer.
I would not recommend you try to run dual monitors with a 24" and 17", the resolution on each screen has to be different and so the settings might be abit stuffed.

Thanks.

"the resolution on each screen has to be different and so the settings might be abit stuffed". I think I will set the 17" monitor to 1024*768, and 24" monitor to 1920*1200. Do you think if I can do that? (the computer will be in tommorow)

Yup. It should work fine. I dual monitor on a 22" and a 17". The 22" is set at 1280*768 and the 17" is at 1024*768.
