128mb 700mhz computer

I Have a veary slow and headack creating 128mb computer how mutch more ram should i put in so i dont over kill it and never use a portion becase of the slow cpu

its from 2001 and all it has is a crap video card i dont remember what kind(I dint build) 700mhz duron and 128mb of ram 20gb hdd and im getting ready to put win xp onto it

First find your motherboard documentation and find the maximum your motherboard can handle.

I'd said aim to have about 512MB

Yeah, if you're putting XP on it you should definitely have 512MB on it. And if it's from 2001 I would imagine that should be PC2100 RAM.

If it's 700MHz, I'd almost bet your running PC100 or PC133 SDRAM.

Ok im on my way to newegg to go look at 512 sticks and maybee even a druon prosser deppedning on the price
