Yeah, I guess it is. Intersting way to put it as fps :)

fps is frames per second. and hertz is cycles per second.

fps is based on the number of individual still pictures that are displayed per second.

Hertz is a measure of frequency. When you talk about a monitor's refresh rate, it how many cycles (hz) per second your monitor draws each pixel, left to right and top to bottom.

Ya, they dont mean the same thing, but the result is the same. Got it. I like fps. Sounds better than Hz

In this instance, I can see why they are the same.

saying your monitor has 100fps is basically saying it can refresh the screen 100 times per second (hz).

But, I see fps used when talking about games and video cards. When talking about games and fps, we are talking about how many still images are being sent to the monitor per second. I dont think it has much to do with the number of times your monitor is able to refresh the image that is on the screen. The only thing I can think of is that the fps is dependent on the refresh rate because if you send more still images per second to the screen than the monitor refresh rate, not all the images will be seen...

crt or lcd
I dont think you can find a LCD for that cheap.

I live in Michigan and i'm just building the best computer I can for games. (halflife 2 battlefield2 UT2004).

Right now I have been looking at a 17 inch insignia 19inch computer for $150 (after shipping) and it looks solid. My friend has a insignia monitor and it looks great.
