16/9 screen!!

Hello I've a graphic card "sis mirage graphic", I've bought a new screen and he's in 16/9 the problem is I can't set my screen resolution to 1920*1080 (my recommanded resolution for the new screen) :( . My computer just suggest resolutions for 4/3 screen! like 1920*1444...
I've already updated the drivers...Do I have to buy a new graphic card?

hello It's a phillips 273E3L full hd 1080p (with also hdmi).
I'm changing the display in windows screen resolution...
 
Got the same serie of monitor, got him running fine at 1920x1080. Probably what strangle said, but this hasn't to do with the monitor for sure.
 
I don't know if it is what you call "chipset" but I've found :
SiS 661FX_760_741_M661FX_M760_M741

It's what I've found on the system informations display!

(It's strange before I've updated the drivers the name of my card was "sis mirage graphic"!!)
 
actually in the beginning the problem was not a problem of 16/9 or 4/3 but the resolution size was not enough (1280/1024) so I've updated the drivers and now it's ok I've up to 2048/1536 but It's just 4/3 for every size!!!!(there is no 1920*1080 the optimal size for my screen)...
Please help me.....
