16 GB Of SSD?

My old laptop which has a 500 GB hard drive is starting to go out. So I'm shopping for something new. I came across the Acer C720 which has great reviews for a great price! But the thing is it only has 16 GB (or upgrade to 32 GB) SSD storage. This seems crazy small so I'm thinking maybe I'm missing something. Is this laptop maybe meant to just serve as a person's on-the-go computer with another computer back home storing all the stuff?

My laptop is mainly used for work which stores my customer files but also has my music and a few movies etc. Right now I'm using about 255 GB of my storage. So does that mean that this Acer C720 could never replace the computer I have without getting rid of my stored files?

It runs chrome os. Google set it up so it runs apps from the chrome browser and you have to be online to access most everything. I had one briefly but sold it. Didn't do what I needed for school etc.

If it is for work I would get a real laptop with windows.

A Chromebook is a very lightweight system. It's run off ChromeOS, which is basically a web-based OS. It's basically an Android tablet in netbook form. It will self-update and is extremely portable, however it's highly-dependent on having internet connectivity. It makes extensive use of Google Docs and Google Drive for storing your files, and only has very limited on-board storage.

As long as you only need the internet then you're set. You can also edit and create docs. But if you need a full fledged laptop, stay with Windows. If you need cheap, go used.
