169.x.x.x & 0.0.0.0 IP Addresses

IP ADDRESS: 169.x.x.x means there is no DHCP assigned to the computer and 0.0.0.0 means the IP Address has been released but not yet renewed.

I checked connections, powercylced modem and router, reset modem and router, restarted computer, checked TCP/IP Settings, DHCP Enabled, disabled/enabled Local Area Connection, disabled/enabled Network Adapters, disabled anti-virus software, disabled firewalls, and more..

I tried a direct connection to modem with ethernet cable and all lights on the modem are on!

Any other suggestions?

wow you've tried most stuff...other than trying new hardward :/ have you ever been able to pick up an IP on this hardware
Have you tried connecting from safe mode?
Driver update? - grabbing at straws
 
thanks for the feedback. yea it seems tough... I'm thinking there has to be something wrong with the PC not getting an IP Address from the modem. In addition, the Windows PC is not even assigning a default 169.x IP Address..
