Hi,
I've tried to run simcity 2000 on my windows XP computer, and a message titled "16 bit Windows Subsystem" tells me this:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications."
i have the option to close or ignore, both of which just close it.
is there something i can do to the autoexec file to make it work?? what can i do?!?!?!

Try this: With the Windows XP CD in the drive, go to Command Prompt and type:
expand d:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
This assumes d: is your cd drive

You could always go to your C: Drive, or your main drive where Windows is installed, and go to "C:\WINDOWS\repair". Then copy autoexec.nt to "C:\WINDOWS\system32". Then right click on autoexec.nt in the system32 folder, and check "read-only". That should fix the problem forever, did for me :D

That usually works too but it could, in theory, have been modified by a virus or spyware or be corrupted.
