I just recently got a 16 gb usb 2.0 flashdrive, but it's not registering as 16 gb. Should i format the drive to ntfs? What can i do?

Cool..will do, what then do i do if it still doesn't register.....if it does register, what do u think the problem was?

If it only appears to have a little less space than 16gb (say, 14gb or more), it's (probably) normal.

Truem, i have a 160GB hard drive and it is actually 150GB, i have a 4GB USB and it is 3.9GB.....

for the OPP, reformat it and you should be right.

After a failed attempt at trying to convert this drive to ntfs, i now got a message that it cant be read, because it is corrupted or unreadable....a friend told me to use gparted, but i don't understand that program, is their anything i can use?

what version of windows are you using? Try formatting it with in windows, using disk management under administration tools. Fat 32 can support up to 127GB of drive space, so the file system is not the problem.

then right click on my computer and click on management, then go to disk management and format it that way.
