1st build, do my peices fit together?

I was going to by a prebuilt computer before but was turned to building as I read more and more. I'm mainly using the computer for music production and then everyday tasks. The total with the operating system (xp) will come out to about $780.00. This look any good?

yea but your GPU is really weak. GPU is really important so id go with maybe a 8600 or a 9600 for what you are using it for. or in a few months you will be kicking your ass for getting that graphics card.
 
I will look into those two cards and buy one of them but I'm just curious as to how a video card will help with my computers performance when I'm editing audio?

Video card do nothing with the performance with audio editing. 8400GS is fine. You don't need to spend money on expensive video card when you don't need.
However, I do recommend 2400Pro as a low end video card, at least they are HDCP ready, which allow you to link to a HD TV through HDMI if you want.

CPU: E8200 is an alternative to E6750, although it is slightly expensive (+$10). It is better than E6750.

DVD burner: I don't know why you need to go for a retail version. An OEM version of DVD burner is fine.

1 problem

the ram is incompatible with the mobo, mobo supports 1066mhz, ram is 800mhz. you need faster ram! also, the amd equivelent of youre processor is $98, and unless you want to overclock to 3.2+-, you don't need another cpu fan. and, if you are overclocking, get the oem version so it is cheaper. also, the socket am2 version of youre cpu fan is cheaper that the 775 version. and youre case already has a 120mm fan. I would go amd

RAM incompatible with Motherboard?? what you are talking about??
The motherboard support up to DDR2 1066 RAM, doesn't mean it do not support DDR2 533/ 667/ 800...

Why are you suggesting a intel PD CPU? Don't get it...
And comparing performance of AMD 5000 x 2 with E6750!? E6750 outperform AMD 5000 x2 at stock...

HD3650 is better than 2400pro. But that one is $65 after MIR. With $65, it is better to go for 2600XT as it is at cheaper price with better performance.
Also, as I said before, when video card do nothing with audio editing, spending extra $25 is unnecessary.

So the ram will work? and what intel pd cpu are you saying I shouldnt get? there were 3 different intels, the 6750, 8200, and the 915 presler (the oem one)

Any DDR2 RAM under speed of 1066 will work.

Generally speaking,
E8XXX> E6X5X > E4XXX > E2XXX > E1XXX

PD 915 not consider.
