I was browsing dealnews.com and came across a 1TB SSD at $231 delivered in the US.

That came just in time. My 512gb SSD is now 200 gb free. But I am starting to save my photo files from a 36 megapixel camera and I had just started a new hobby with video editing. A 3 minutes production requires over 2 hours of clips. That will eat up the remaining 200 gb in no time.

I hope I can still get by for another year. And may be by then, 1TB SSD would be under $150.

I do have external drives to backup my photo and video, as well as other data. I want to keep most of my photos (taken over 15+ years) in the active computer because they are indexed and easy to find. And I do go back a few years back to retrieve some of them for editing. The SSD is a lot faster than the external drive when searching.
