2.5GHz P4 - Northwood... Overclock!?!

Hello,
I have a Pentium 4 2.5ghz [northwood]. It is currently in a [rubish] Packard Bell. I am planning on getting a strong new motherboard for it which is good for overclocking eg nice bios. [any suggestions?]

Also if I get some extra cooling for it, how big an overclock do you think would be possible or realistic?

Stats;
100[cpu fsb] x 25 [multiplier] = 2500MHz

Thanks,

Oder

i never heard of *25 multiplier...

mine is only 200*9 stock
Thats because:
1. Your system has a slower clockspeed
2. Your system has a higher HTT

Well, back OT...

Can anyone recomend a cheap mobo [doesn't have to have sli or anything fancy like that but would like it to support P4 and a PCI-E slot]

And with my set up and a bit of extra cooling, how much of a overclock am I looking at?

we cant say how much of an overclock you'll get since it depends on the individual parts, some are excellent for oc'in and some arent. It also depends on your motherboard, and ram.

yes i agree, it depends on the entire system. not only that, but i have no experience with pentium 4's, and also what socket is it? it sounds like it wont be LGA 775 - thats the newest socket.
