2 6800GT's in sli of 1 7800 ULTRA?

we'll i want to uprade the system showed blow (ya,. i just fixed the mobo issue ) but what would be better, buying a 2nd 6800gt, of buying 1 7800ULTRA and sell my ist 6800GT?

I'd SLI two 6800's..... cuz 2 6800's I think would most likely outperform the 7800.... but if you absolutely HAVE to get the newest stuff, go with the 7800.

i read a review that said the 7800GTX is 80% better then a 6800Ultra. If you would want to upgrade later on, you can just get another 7800GTX.

So to answer your question, i would get a 7800GTX.

Well actually, two 6800Ultras in SLI are a bit better than one 7800GTX when you crank up the antialiasing and all that to make the game look better. But then again all games don't work very well in SLI so it would be safer with a 7800GTX.

The SLI mode is better only if you use higher resolutions, if you use res up to 1600 you can buy the 7800, it will destroy the two 6800gt. Some tests showned that 2 6800gt are weaker than a single 6800gt in some applications because the SLI technology is at the begining and the games aren't modified to take advntage of it. i would recommend the 7800 because it has newer technology, has more pipelines and is cheaper than 2 sli 6800gt.

what new chip would that be? the 7800GTX uses essentially the same core architecture as the 6800 Ultra

theres more tests from multiple sites but i cant seem to find them now... some showed a single gtx to be better, others showed it to be marginally less than 2 6800 ultras in sli.. the forum they were posted on deleted them because they were more than a month old, but ill keep lookin
