2 audio files play over top of each other?

well what I usually do, is convert my 2 music to .wav format, then i open one up with "sound recorder".
From "Sound recorder" i go to Edit-->Mix with File.

Now when i press play both music are playing at the same time.
but hey thats just how i do it, it will work in your case but i don't know if you wanna do it that way !!

Well you definitely wouldn't be able to do it in an ordinary media player. You could use the free Audacity that others suggested. I use Cool Edit Pro; the predecessor of Adobe Audition.

I haven't use that part of Adobe CS3 yet but i believe it is a very good editting tool.

Probably not much help if you're not willing to spend loads of money but I'm into music production etc and "Ableton Live" will do what you want quite nicely, you can set both songs to the same tempo fade between the two and loads of other cool stuff. But if you're only planning on doing it the once and not wanting to spend any money: The Audacity link posted above seems pretty good.
