2 comps in 1

Hi
I have a new system that I would like advice on. The HDDrive is a sata but there is only one. I work with graphics/CAD on a daily basis and the HDDrive has loads of software and plug ins that I require.
The problem is that I also trade on exchanges daily and the software conflicts with some plugins.
I have heard of but never actually undertaken a partition and have read a bit on dual boot and boot managing software but am confused.
What I would like to do is Ideally get another SATA drive (or partition the existing one) and install only the internet and my trading software, and use the existing drive/partition for work, Firstly is it possible to have it so I can choose at boot up which comp to use and secondly would there be any draw backs (what I mean is would it be truelly like attaching each sepurate HHD for each job?)
Cheers

Well you seem to grasp the whole idea pretyy well, but seem confused as to how you would traverse from one tot he other. In a dual boot you would have to shut down and restart the pc to work from the other partition or other drive. It would work as you like though.

I might suggest that you just create a second ID, and not have all the other programs and stuff installed accorss the multiple ID's.

I believe it could work in that way... Any support?

I never thaught of that Trizoy, it does seem such a simple and good idea. I thnk that may do it. However I presume that only established software (like adobe etc) would give the option to select only certain user. I would think that plug ins generically just install across the board, but I maybe wrong.
The only other issue is that Id have to start again from scratch uninstalling and reinstalling, but probably worth it.
But I take it setting a partition does make a definative area that is like a computer all on its own?
Cheers
