Hi, I have 2 drives, both DVDs both connected and at one time were both recognised. since an engineer came to sort out my hard drive only 1 DVd drive is showing. I can swap them around so that each shows up in Devices but will not show together, anyone got a solution please.(dont want to get the engineeer back as he has bankrupted me):)(Old age Pensioner)

If you're comfortable with working inside the computer, I would check to see if both drives are set to master, that is if they are IDE.

Without a physical remove I can see that they both have the jumpers in the centre of the 3 sets of pins if that is of any help to you -OMEGA- thanks.
Neither drive has been out of the case since first put in about 2 years ago, although 1 was disconected by the engineer. It was when i replgged the drive that i found it did not show.

I will dismantle tomorrow and find out. All cables are connected and each on its own will be found as different drives, used to be E & D now its just D.

One drive need to be Master and one Slave or, both set as Cable Select if there on the same cable.
