You dont need that audio cable at all, just use the ide cables and the 4pin molex for power.

OH RLY?

what is the point of the audio cable then?
so all acceserary things like drives, fans, ect run off of DC?

and when i get my mobo, will it come with the cables for the hdd?

Ya, your power supply will come with all the cables you need. And everything in your computer runs off of your power supply.

I think the audio cable is used for the headphone jack on the cd drive, but im not positive.

ok, got that(those) part(s).

my hardd has a couple of weirdish slots, one of my cables that came with the psu fits in there, the other one is like the other one but smaller, do i need it?
is that for using multiple hdds?
