2 drives

I put in a cd burner and XP installed it fine. I add a plain cd drive and now it says that I only have 1 cd drive. Right now both are connected properly.

What happend to the burner.

check the jumpers the back of the drives. one should be master and the other set to slave

one is on cable select and the other is on master

im not sure. but the one thats on cable select, change it to slave

My burners back and the other one is gone

I just finished the add harware wizard an it didnt find anything

the drive on the end of the ide make that the master then make the other one the slave

OK, the cable select is the best option. It automatically detects where you're drives are on the cable and sets them as Slave and Master. If you want to specify the slave and master make sure the one at the end of the cable is Master and the one in the middle of the cable is the slave.
