2 explorers?

why dont you try closing one of them? see what happens
 
ive had like 20 at the same time and i didnt have my browers open.... i didnt know what was rong so i jsuit closed all of them and nothing happened.
 
i had a virus problem once and it looked like i had more than one explorer open, what it actually was was one had a very clever misspelling of explorer.exe and it was actually a viral process
 
explorer is the windows main shell, close it and you'll see what i mean, and yes, my dads pc has had this before, lots of popups and browser hijacks and upon inspection.... 2 explorers, the old PC was due a format though, so i just wiped it all off....
 
But it has nothing to do with it. It was random as wer weren't tzlking about browers and we were tlaking about two explorers.exe's, and explorer.exe is a brower, just not a internet brower.

desktop icons dssapears, start bar dissapears, right click doesn't work. Just run explorer through ctrl alt del and it'll work again.

and to hairy_lee, the spellings were both correct. explorer.exe, though one's using up twice the memory as the other. ~30,000k to ~15,000K

if i close one, the other one closes too. and it doesn't really go down, it just stays there without tool bars, icons and stuff. All i had to do was ctrl atl del, file, run, explorer.exe, and everything would come back

did both explorer.exe come back in task manager, or just one?
