what are my options?

Thanks

you can use the 60gb as storage, although it won't be very much since it is only 60gb. what interface is the old one? what motherboard do you have? do you alredy have the new 500gb running windows 7 on it now?

ide? is that the interface? w.d. ata 6ogb 5400
asus m4a785td m evo
new build is 64 bit and i know that xp is 32 and the uninstalled 7 is 64.

btw- thank you, again....

do you know if the new drive is sata or ide?
is windows 7 currently installed on the 500gb or are you planning on installing it?

You would probably not need the 60 GB so I would have fun with it by dual booting with a linux OS. Just my 2 cents.

the new 500 is sata and it is clean right now, but i plan on using 7 on it. i have everything, just not completed yet. im using the 60 w/xp right now till 7 gets here today and i have time to complete the build. so its close to being done and im using it now, just not set up the way it will be when its finished. the xp is still a good install and its transferrable to another machine. and since i dont have the disc for xp, only the key, then perhaps ill just use the 500 w/7 and get another hdd and try out this linux? i wont ask about dual boot, but sounds interesting and always fun to learn.

guiding comments welcome :)
