2 monitors / 2 keyboards

so i have dual 24" monitors and sometimes my wife and i want to be on the net at the same time.
is it possible to add another keyboard and mouse to my PC which would then allow another person to also navigate around.

so basically i could use one screen to do my thing and she could use another screen to do her thing.

has this been done before?

it is called two computers but really, as far as i know there is no way to set that up. when i try plugging in another mouse i get a "battle of the mice."
