2 monitors from one PC.. help

I have two monitors, Dell M991 17" CRT and Silicon Graphics PlugNplay 19" CRT.. and I have this cable that plugs into the VGA out on my pc, and has two outputs coming from it where the monitors plug in..

When I connect them both, they dimm, probably about 40%.. both monitors work fine when hooked up alone, but when together they dimm and they also get a tad blurry.. barely noticable, but still there.

Can someone explain to me what's going on? I thought this cable would work no problem, but I guess I know nothing about monitors and VGA outputs lol..

Is there something I can do to correct this and use this as it is, without adding another PCI card for the second monitor..?

Please help,

Thanks!

Go to control panel then to your video card control panel then display then change display configuration then change it to dual screens.

id say probably because you're using one port to two monitors that it's going to downgrade a bit because the vga port was made to run two monitors

nowadays when you buy almost any video card they have two vga or dvi hookups so you can run dual monitors you might consider investing in one

Or if you don't have a video card and your hooking it up to just one port then that's why and you should get a video card and it will have two ports.
