2 OS on 1 PC

HELLO,
few days ago i installed windows 7 ultimate on my PC and I liked it.
but it has quite big system requirements and i also want to have win XP on my PC for soft and games that have big requirements.
is it possible? (i want system to boot win 7 automaticly)
my PC
RAM 4 GB
CPU intel core 2 duo E7500 2.93GHz
VIDEO CARD Nvidia geforce 9400 gt
 
you can install two systems on two seperate primary partions formatted to ntfs, however what should happen then is when you start the machine you will get a boot selection menu to choose which one, however you can set a default so that when you start the machine and just leave it to boot it will boot into your choosen default os.
 
just make sure you choose custom install and then select the partition u want to install the 2nd o.s,otherwise you'll install over your current o.s.
then click run>msconfig,click boot.ini tab and you select your default os.
the new os is usually the default i think.
 
thank you very much for information ad can you tell me how to install second OS on my PC now. (i want to install it on second local disk) shoul i boot it from cd or just insall it without turning off default OS?
 
just boot from the cd as normal that should be fine, take care make sure you choose the correct hard disk to install on and as directed above do a custom install, i have never done a dual boot using two seperate drives but i think once its all installed and setup you would have to use your boot select on startup to choose the hard disk to boot, and you would have too set in the bios which hard drive you want to be the first boot drive.
 
the only trouble with installing on a second disk is having to choose which one to boot from in the bios. you will have to choose every boot up (if changing os's). if you install on the same disk, usually you will get a screen during boot up that allows you to select os.
 
I dont know about dual booting 7 and xp on seperate hard drives. I have done xp and ubuntu on seperate hard drives and when i did that i had one pluged in and installed xp and then unplugged that hard drive and installed ubuntu amd then plugged both hard drives back in and set it to boot from the ubuntu one and it put xp into its boot menu.
