(2) Questions, please...

Sorry if either of these questions have been asked before, I did a search and came up with nothing.

1.) I initially wanted to buy the Western Digital, "My Book" 500GB:

...but then decided I should go with the internal drive:

http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=214

when I read that the "Write speed" on the external was super slow.

Anyway, was just wondering which if the two would be the better choice, in quality and price.

2.) External Vs Internal: Which is better?

Does it simply boil down to preference or are there major pros & cons when dealing with either or? Any comments, suggestions, or whatever, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
-Anthony

I would go with a internal, the external drives are generally not performance based, as they are mostly for backup.

Internals are alot cheaper also.

Agreed... External drives are normally capped around ATA33. Otherwise, there's no difference. If you pop open an external drive, it's going to be a standard IDE/PATA internal drive.
