One thing I don't understand is can you have two memory sticks at different speeds working together in the computer? For instance, lets say my computer has 3 RAM slots, and I have a 1GB stick and a 516GB stick, can I put them together??

u know what I mean, but you didn't really answer my question. You kinda just pointed out how little I know about this computer building process.

They will work fine together, but one thing that's for sure is that dual channel will not work :)

Are you talking about speeds or capacities? Different capacities will work fine, and different speeds will run at the lower speed.
