Hi,
I have a computer I use for intense work based stuff like Graphics, Music etc it runs 2 X Xeon 6core 2GHz CPU's. Its been running great for about 3 years and recently its started hanging on graphics applications (almost like its gone into power saving mode) I have a dual boot system one with Windows 10 for the graphics side and one on Windows 7 for the music side. They both do the same. I have also done a fresh format just to check it wasn't that but it was the same.
I checked the CPU temperature using Speedfan today and it read the CPU's as 126C under no load. Now i know that my i7 on another computer idle gets around 30C so 126C is a massive increase on the Xeon's but I'm getting a conflicting answers online about what the temperature should be for the Xeons. Some people are saying that 126C is the combined temperature of both others are saying its not. Can anyone advise please?
The reason I think its the CPU is because I have an ASIO Pro Audio RME card and if i switch the Buffer size to anything but 512 it crackles/distorts which usually means the CPU's aren't man enough. A few weeks ago this didn't do that at all!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Kind Regards
Joe
