20 gegabite hard drive

ok i have a 20 gb hard drive... it was in an older computer.. the computer that this hard drive was in , the power supply caught on fire... now i have a new computer... and now already the hard drive went out... would it be ok if i put this hard drive from the computer that had the power supply catch on fire and put it into my new computer? im so frustrated ...

should be fine... unless you burnt the hard drive or the cable you plan on using.

i tried it, but it still came up and loaded and then went to a black screen with a cursor blinking at the top left... whats wrong???

THat means that you have no operating system, i think.

You should have what, windows 98? something like that on the drive? it might have gotten damaged, and now you need to format and get a new OS.

When you put an old hard drive with an OS into a different computer, odds are it wont boot into Windows. That means that you will have to reinstall the operating system.
